I really appreciate this post/article, I know that I’m gonna be in a heartbreaking because A7 V is about to come in late 2025 and early 2026 window, because once a newer model is released, the previous models are going to have a price drop but I think that’s fine either way. I will go for the A7 IV because it’s been 7 years for the A7 III to hold the fort

Thanks. If the A7IV wouldn’t justify you ugrading then it really depends on your budget. A1, A7RIVA or the newly announced A7R5 would definitely give you a noticeable improvement in image quality.

Ive shot the A1 and really liked it. I’m half considering it for myself but as I have the A7IV im debating if I should get a high megapixel model and then the question is whether to stick with Sony or go to GFX. I wasn’t a fan of the A7RIV to be honest.

But I’ve spent way to much in this last month on gear so will probably wait for a little while before making that decision.

Really great review. I have had my a7III since it came out and looking to upgrade, but need a boost on photos as well as the move to 10bit 4k60p, etc. What model should i consider instead of just the a7IV do you think? Thanks
