In reply to <a href="https://thecotswoldphotographer.com/fujifilm-xf-23mm-f-2-wr-review/#comment-430">Liz</a>.

Hi Liz,

Sorry for the late reply. I've been in the middle of my international move and have only just started to get set up here in Scotland. If portraits are your primary focus then out of the two, I'd go for the 27mm. However, I'd also take a look at the 35mm f/2 as thats an excellent lens, sharp and better for portraits than either of the two that you mentioned yet isnt so narrow and focused as the 50mm f/2, It's the one I'd pick for a focus on portraits but still with the ability to step back a littel for some context.

All the best

If you could choose between the 23mm and 27mm for a Fuji Xt5 as a travel/everyday lens, some street photos but a lot more portraits, which one would you choose? I mistakenly bought the 50mm lens and it's quickly become too tight for a lot of times I want to do portraits on the go, or capture wider scenes. Looking to get either of these lenses but I love people and portraits more than landscape. I am interested in journalistic-style street photography too but just haven't focused on it a lot (pun intended - ha ha!).
